Son of the late Robert and Agnes (Kennedy) Little of Castle Douglas.
Husband of Christina (Davidson) Little of 70 Eastwood Avenue, Shawlands, Glasgow who he married in October 1914 in Uddingston, Bothwell, Lanarkshire.
Missing in Action on 21 June 1918 and named on the Arras Memorial, France.
Named on the Glasgow Roll of Honour and on the Newlands Depot Memorial of the GCT, now in the Parkhead Depot.

Alexander was a carter and living in Dalbeattie when he enlisted in June 1916. He was mobilised in March 1917, went to France in July and joined his battalion on 6 August 1917. Two weeks later he was killed near Ypres.
Born 1888 at Buittle, Kirkcudbrightshire. Son of Alexander and Hannah Augusta (Johnstone) Kirk of Palnackie, Buittle. Husband of Mary Janet Thompson (Lockerbie) Kirk of 102 Southwick Road, Dalbeattie who he married in 1912 at Crossmichael. [Later Mrs McGeorge of Maxwellfield, Crossmichael]
Missing in Action on 22 August 1917 and named on the Tyne Cot Memorial.

Bombadier John Lucas died at Gibraltar in 1915 aged 19.

JACK LUCAS – age 19 – Acting Bombardier (1153) 1/1st East Lancashire Brigade, Royal Field Artillery.
John (Jack) Lucas was living at 30 Dab Lane, Blackburn and was a driver with Thwaites Brewery when he enlisted in Blackburn Battery of the Territorial RFA in May 1914. He was mobilised August 1914 and landed with his Brigade in Egypt in September where they defended the Suez Canal before moving to Gallipoli in May 1915. Jack contacted dysentery in September and was evacuated to hospital in Gibraltar where he died.
Born 1896 at Blackburn, Lancashire. Son of Walter and Johann (Herries) Lucas of 148 St Michael's Street, Dumfries and later of 102 Cotton Street, Castle Douglas. Johann's mother, Joan (Solley) Herries later married John Garret. In 1901, John Lucas, age 5 and born in England, was living with his grandparents John and Mary Garret at Viewhill Cottage, Back King Street, Castle Douglas.
Died on Active Service on 3 December 1915 and buried in Gibraltar (North Front) Cemetery.

Lost at Sea on 15 April 1918 when the “Pomeranian”, en route from London to St. Johns, New Brunswick, was torpedoed and sunk by U-Boat UC77 off Portland Bill.
