Hello there - I've just joined I need to get my head around what I am able to submit on the Forum/what the Forum would find interesting!
I have an uncle - William Forbes Petrie Brodie who is 'remembered' on a Brodie family headstone with Blairgowrie Cemetery. Willie went down with the Suez Maru - as a Japanese POW. He has no grave, obviously, and is commemorated on the Singapore Kranji War Memorial. He was 993595 Aircraftman 2nd Class and was either drowned or was shot on 29 November 1943.
Is the Forum interested in an image of the family headstone (on which he is named "In Memory") or an image of Bendochy Parish Church Memorial Gate Plaque, where he is also named with others.
Many thanks Heather |

Thank you Adam ..... for all that. After posting, I started having a root about and discovered the listing re Bendochy Kirk - should have done that first, shouldn't I?!
Thank you Ken ..... what I surprise to see that posted. It's a quest of mine to have all my relatives' who fell during WW1 and WW2 immortalised wherever I can - albeit by name only now but it needs to be done and Forums/Projects such as this are a great way to achieve just that, aren't they?
Many thanks Heather |
