The lost bombers website has the same information as held in the book 'Bomber Command Losses of the Second World War - 1945' by W R Chorley. He gives his source as Ministry of Defence, Air Historical Branch. In particular Accident Record Cards and Bomber Command Loss Cards so it looks like their records are wrong.
It might possibly be that they were originally correct but that some well meaning soul has amended them on the evidence of the graves and dates of death.

Jim and Paul
Actually, I thought CWGC had got it wrong. It reminded me to read and check my own notes.
While researching I ran across some information which indicated that the guy who put together the lostbombers site has died.
I think the site is being maintained but not updated - I think |

Ken
Paul confirms that the details on lostbombers do tie with Chorley's book.
That being the case it might be worthwhile gathering together the details you have from Alastair in Holland ( and anything else he has which adds fact to the story) and writing to the AHB, setting out why you believe the book, and the Official record it states it is citing, appear to be in error. They might confirm the records are corrrect and the book is wrong or take things forward and check it out further from restricted records. _________________ Jim
