There has never been a stone on this grave but I thought that the following newspaper article would be of interest.

Dumfries and Galloway Standard
3rd June 1899

Military Funeral at Dalry.- The remains of Private John McCulloch, E Coy: Galloway Rifles, were interred with military honours on Sunday. There was a good muster of Volunteers from New-Galloway station and New-Galloway. They were joined by the Dalry section opposite the Lochinvar Hotel, and marched to the residence of the deceased under command of Lieut. James Stewart, Dalry. The funeral service was conducted by the Rev. Thomas Walker, chaplain of the company, and was very impressive. The coffin was carried shoulder high by six members of the Company to the place of interment. After a short service at the grave the usual three volleys were fired over the open grave, and the Company was then marched back and dismissed. Col. J.M. Kennedy was also present. There was a large concourse of people to witness the proceedings. Private McCulloch was a fine specimen of a Galloway Volunteer, and was highly respected by his comrades. He was one of the five chosen to represent the company in London on the occasion of the Queen’s Jubilee.

Elma Wood died in 1941 of Addison's disease after serving in several places with NAAFI. She is listed on the Dalry war memorial.

Anthony Campbell – age 24 – Gunner (108925) 104th Battery, 22nd Brigade, Royal Field Artillery.
A Gamekeeper at Caerlaverock Estate and at Dalswinton Estate Dumfriesshire, Anthony enlisted in October 1915. He was killed near Montauban, Somme.
Born 1892 in Dalry, Kirkcudbrightshie. Son of William James and Janet (Connell) Campbell of Loch Howie, Balmaclellan.
Missing in Action on 1 September 1916 and named on the Thiepval Memorial, Somme, France.

And his brother

William Campbell – age 29 – Private (S/16924) 7th Battalion, Cameron Highlanders.
William was apprenticed to Mr Corrie, Blacksmith, Balmaclellan when he enlisted in December 1914. He was badly wounded by shrapnel in the neck, hand and leg near Hulloch 3 November 1915.
Born 1895 in Dalry, Kirkcudbrightshie. Son of William James and Janet (Connell) Campbell of Loch Howie, Balmaclellan.
Died on 27 April 1925 of Tuberculosis and effects of shell-wound, at Blowplain, Balmaclellan.
William is not listed by CWGC/SNWM as his death was post 1921.
