The battle between Royal Navy ships and Motor Gun Boats of the Light Coastal Force and a fleet of over 30 E-boats took place in the North Sea on the night of 24/25 October 1943.
A detailed description of the action, during which HM MGB 607 rammed and sank an E-boat, is in a Google Book at https://books.google.co.uk/books?id=RKdZBAAAQBAJ&pg=PA69&lpg=PA69&dq=HM+MGB+607&source=bl&ots=Dj906OyETk&sig=CzXoOTw_HdLI4wqYz26VAMZeefY&hl=en&sa=X&ei=al06Vb2BKJbdao7UgYgH&ved=0CDkQ6AEwAg#v=onepage&q=HM%20MGB%20607&f=false
