The death of Robert Smith Casey was reported on in the 24/4/1941 edition of the Wigtownshire Free Press. "Mr and Mrs David Casey, 11 St John Street, Stranraer, have received news of the death, as the result of an accident of their eldest son, Private RS Casey. Before the war, Casey was employed with the Co-operative Society at Sheuchan Parks. He had been on service since the outbreak of hostilities. He is to be buried at Stranraer on Friday.
