This article was published in the Sunday Post on 11th November and I thought that this would be of interest to the forum members.

Good old Sunday Post. A very interesting article. I didn't realise the CWGC had one man (now two) doing all of Scotland.
And this is the grave he is tending in the photograph:

Casualty Type: Commonwealth War Dead
Grave/Memorial Reference: Grave 25. Row A.
Cemetery: KINLOSS ABBEY BURIAL GROUND |

Kinloss Abbey is on my 'to do' list!
Still got 1/4 of Elgin Cemetery to do first - and to add the individual's details to the posts!

A very good post, I am sure we were all aware that the maintenance of headstones is an on going process, but it is facinating to see and hear about one of the men and women who actually carry out this work. I have for some time been interested in finding out more on this subject, especially on when the war grave cemeteries on the continent were first being set up. I hope to see more posts of this kind.
I hope all your New years started as well as mine has. |

I visited Kinloss Abbey Burial Ground today - see link above. As well as the gravestones, the grounds are also in immaculate condition.
Well Done!
