Do you think it's Gaelic?
I never thought about that - I thought it was an abbreviation of some sort - not that I have a clue what it might be an abbreviation of!! The same IanA on GWF?

Added later:
It means: "By Land and Sea" and is the motto of the Clan Donald.
(GWF to the rescue within minutes!)
Don't know why I didn't just 'google' it - dozens of entries! Now and again it's translated as "By Sea and Land" but at least now we know the jist |
