Erected by James Thomson in memory of his dearly beloved wife Christina Fraser who died 10th May 1945 aged 82 and their family Christina died October 1907 aged 8, James fell in action in France October 1916 aged 22, Mary Ann Fraser died December 1918 aged 26, the said James Thomson joiner Old Montrose died 23rd April 1951 aged 80.

In loving memory of Thomas Scott, Farmer Bonnyton born February 18th 1852 died May 17th 1920, also his wife Mary Alexandrina Ballantine who died 18th February 1922 aged 57 also their eldest son Major General Thomas Scott C.B Indian Army born February 20th 1897 died November 26th 1968. "He gave great service and was beloved by all" and Enid his wife who loved him beyond all died August 14th 1976, also Peggy daughter of Thomas and Mary Scott who died October 23rd 1987 aged 82.

Maryton Church is now a private residence. The churchyard is at the side and behind the house. The entrance for the churchyard is through the main gate to the house, then veering to the right.
There are two War Memorials outside the gate, a civic one and a school one.





You can just see Montrose Basin through the trees in the bottom photograph.
